CAST is a musician, producer, and visual artist from New York.
Born in Manhattan to Dominican parents and raised between the South Bronx and North Jersey, his work is shaped by the tension between conflicting environments, identities, and ways of moving through the world. Musically, he shifts between hip-hop, alternative music, folk, and experimental pop, often pairing intimate, guitar-driven songwriting with dense, hard-hitting production. His music is raw, eclectic, and detailed, built around instinctive melodies, honest lyrics, and arrangements that continue to reveal themselves over time.
CAST writes, produces, records, and engineers all of his music, while directing and editing much of the visual work surrounding it. Rather than treating songs, films, and physical releases as separate disciplines, he approaches each project as part of the same world. His work frequently explores identity, ambition, isolation, loss, and the process of becoming more fully yourself. There is also a strong sense of curiosity in the way he creates; he is interested in taking things apart, combining unlikely influences, and allowing ideas the space to develop into whatever they want to become.
The curiosity extends beyond music. Releases can become films, environments, or experiments in how an audience encounters the work. The goal is not simply to make songs, but to create experiences that reward attention and reveal more the longer someone stays with them.
CAST has released more than 30 songs and generated over half a million streams across platforms. His work is released through ILLO, the independent creative imprint behind his music and related projects.
